Kanaan to Start Sixth at Texas Motor Speedway

FORT WORTH, Texas (June 8, 2006) - Team 7-Eleven driver Tony Kanaan recorded a speed of 212.313 miles per hour (24.6711 seconds) and will start from the sixth position in the #11 Team 7-Eleven Dallara/Honda/Firestone for Saturday night's running of the IndyCar Series Bombardier Learjet 500k at Texas Motor Speedway.

Tony Kanaan, #11 Team 7-Eleven Dallara/Honda/Firestone:
"We've spent most of our time working on our qualifying setup. Team 7-Eleven always has good race cars here. If you look back at my record, it's pretty good apart from 2003 when Helio took us out. We have a good qualifying position so now we can focus on getting ready to go racing."

Andretti to Start Ninth in NYSE Car at Texas Motor Speedway

Marco Andretti and the #26 NYSE car recorded a speed of 211.923 miles per hour (24.7165 seconds) and will start from the ninth position for Saturday night's running of the IndyCar Series Bombardier Learjet 500k.

Marco Andretti, #26 NYSE Dallara/Honda/Firestone:
"I think my engineers could qualify the car here, but this is about where I thought I'd qualify the NYSE car so I have to say that I'm pleased. I found out in practice that I'm definitely going to have to drive the car during the race. There are going to be two or three guys outside of you when you have somebody in front of you, so we've got to get the car to where I can go flat out when I'm running behind somebody."

Herta Qualifies 11th at Texas In XM Satellite Radio Car

Bryan Herta, driver of the #7 XM Satellite Radio car, will start on the inside of row six for Saturday's running of the Bombardier Learjet 500k from Texas Motor Speedway. Herta recorded a best-lap speed of 211.532 miles per hour (24.7622 seconds) during his qualifying attempt.

Bryan Herta, #7 XM Satellite Radio Dallara/Honda/Firestone:
"I'm not particularly happy with our qualifying run. I thought we might be able to get another half-mile per hour out of the XM Satellite Radio car today. We'll just have to take it and work on race setup tomorrow."

Franchitti Will Start Eighth at Texas In Klein Tools/Canadian Club Car

Dario Franchitti, driver of the Klein Tools/Canadian Club machine, will start eighth for the Bombardier Learjet 500k from Texas Motor Speedway. Franchitti posted a best-lap speed of 211.933 miles per hour (24.7154 seconds) in qualifying for Saturday night's event.

ESPN will provide live broadcast coverage of the 200-lap race beginning at 9 p.m. (EDT). The entire IndyCar Series schedule can be heard live by XM Satellite Radio subscribers by tuning into XM channel 145, the exclusive home of the IndyCar Series.

Dario Franchitti, #27 Klein Tools/Canadian Club Dallara/Honda/Firestone:
"The Klein Tools/Canadian Club car has been comfortable all day, it's just not terribly fast. It wasn't a bad performance and it gives us something to work on tomorrow. We've got a long day ahead of us tomorrow to try and have a good car for this race because it's a hard race when you're back in traffic, so it's important to get the balance right."
