NAZARETH, Pa., Friday, April 5, 2002 - Snow flurries and cold temperatures forced the cancellation of the second day of the Indy Racing League Open Test on April 5 at Nazareth Speedway.

There was no track activity during the day, as air temperatures in the 30's and low track temperatures during the morning prevented Indy Racing League drivers from turning any laps on the 1-mile oval.

Indy Racing League Vice President of Operations Brian Barnhart canceled the day's activity after a brief snow squall at approximately 12:45 p.m. (EST).

Teams will return to their respective shops to continue preparations for the Firestone Indy 225 on April 21, the inaugural Indy Racing League event at Nazareth Speedway.

2001 Indianapolis 500 winner Helio Castroneves posted the fastest lap Thursday, 19.4556 seconds, 172.824 mph, in the No. 3 Marlboro Team Penske Dallara/Chevrolet/Firestone. Thirteen drivers turned a total of 1,932 laps Thursday.
