Indianapolis - Despite missing all five races sanctioned by the Pep Boys Indy Racing League in 1996, Pennzoil Panther Racing driver Scott Goodyear has quickly risen into the top five in almost all categories for which the IRL keeps records.

Races Won - Goodyear is tied for 5th in the number of Pep Boys IRL races won in a career with two victories. Goodyear is tied for 1st in number of victories for 1999 with two (Phoenix and Texas).

Races Led - Goodyear is 2nd all time in the number of races led. Goodyear has found himself at the point during 13 different IRL events. Four of those races have occurred in 1999 - Orlando, Phoenix, Texas and Atlanta. He is ranked 2nd in races led this year.

Laps Led - The 458 laps Goodyear has led is good enough for 3rd in the laps led category. Two hundred and sixty-five of those leading laps have come in 1999 - which ranks him 1st for the year.

Laps Completed - In his career, Goodyear has completed 4,480 laps placing him 4th overall in the laps completed category. In 1999, Goodyear ranks 5th in laps completed with 1,247.

Running at Finish -- Goodyear has racked up an impressive 18 races where he has been running at the finish ranking him 3rd in the category. Five of those 18 running at the finishes have come in 1999 - Orlando, Phoenix, Texas, Pikes Peak and Atlanta.

Prize Money Earned - For his efforts, Goodyear has earned $2,417,750 in IRL prize money placing him 6th in the money category behind four Indianapolis 500 winners (Luyendyk, Lazier, Cheever and Brack) and 1997 IRL Champion Tony Stewart. In 1999 Goodyear has earned the 5th most prize money, receiving $692,650.
