What:

IRL IndyCar Series Driver and National Spokesperson for Racing For Kids, Robbie Buhl, will visit patients in Children's Memorial Hospital on Thursday, September 4th beginning at 2:00 pm. Buhl will greet children in the hospital playroom, and will follow up with bedside visits. He will bring his racing helmet, autograph cards, and official Racing For Kids baseball style caps.

Now in his 14th year with the charity, Buhl has visited more than 15,000 children in 240 hospitals across the US, Mexico, Canada, Australia and Japan. Buhl uses the popularity of motorsports to raise awareness of children's health issues and has raised more than $3.5 million dollars for local health initiatives. Each race weekend, he arrives a day early to spend time at the local children's hospital with young patients and their families.

Accompanying Buhl will be Racing For Kids Founder, Dr. William Pinsky; Mr. J. Patrick Wright, the Executive Director of the charity, as well as several representatives of Aventis Pharmaceuticals. The tour will be conducted by Susan Ruohonen of Children's Memorial Hospital.

Buhl is scheduled to compete in the Delphi Indy 300 at Chicagoland Speedway on Sunday, September 7. One of the IRL's original founding drivers in 1996, he has scored two IRL victories, a win at the 24 hours of Daytona in 1993, won the 1992 Indy Lights Championship, and the national Barber Saab Pro Series Championship in 1989.
