SunTrust to again Sponsor Richmond IRL IndyCar Race

March 1, 2004- Richmond International Raceway officials announced today that SunTrust bank will return as the primary sponsor for the fastest weekend of the year at "The Action Track." Richmond International Raceway will host the fourth annual IRL IndyCar Series SunTrust Indy Challenge on June 25-26 during the "Extreme Speed, Extreme Excitement Weekend."

"Each year, the IRL IndyCar Series and the SunTrust Indy Challenge continue to grow," stated Doug Fritz, president of Richmond International Raceway. "For the fourth consecutive year, we are proud to have SunTrust sponsor the race and we look forward to another exciting, first class event."

The SunTrust Indy Challenge, which is the only IRL event on a track shorter than one mile, is scheduled for an 8:00 p.m. start on Saturday, June 26 "under the lights." Also part of the schedule is the USAC National Sprint Car Series "Showdown at Sundown" race on Friday, June 25 and the Dominic's of New York 100 USAC Weld Racing Silver Crown Series race that will take place prior to the SunTrust Indy Challenge.

All tickets for the USAC National Sprint Car Series event on Friday, June 25 are $15 and include IRL and USAC Silver Crown practice and qualifying as well as an autograph session with the IRL IndyCar Series drivers. Tickets for the SunTrust Indy Challenge are $35 for reserved seating and $30 for general admission. Children 12 and under are admitted free in the general admission seating area on Friday and Saturday if accompanied by a paying adult.
