Kanaan to Start Seventh at Richmond

RICHMOND, Va. (June 23, 2006) - Team 7-Eleven driver Tony Kanaan will start from the seventh position in the #11 Team 7-Eleven Dallara/Honda/Firestone for Saturday night's running of the SunTrust Indy Challenge Presented by XM Satellite Radio after rain cancelled qualification attempts at Richmond International Raceway and the field was set based on practice times recorded during Friday's practice sessions.

Tony Kanaan, #11 Team 7-Eleven Dallara/Honda/Firestone:
"I don't think we had a shot at the pole but I think the Team 7-Eleven car was a top-five qualifying car. The fast guys are where they are supposed to be so it will make for a very exciting race."

Herta To Start Ninth in XM Satellite Radio Car For SunTrust Indy Challenge

Bryan Herta, driver of the #7 XM Satellite Radio car, will start ninth for Saturday's SunTrust Indy Challenge Presented by XM Satellite Radio. Herta was one of a handful of drivers who took a qualifying attempt before rain washed out the session with several cars remaining in line. Because of the weather, the starting grid was set based on combined practice session times from Friday's practices.

Bryan Herta, #7 XM Satellite Radio Dallara/Honda/Firestone:
"I was really happy with my qualifying run but I think we were going to end up seventh, eighth or ninth anyway. So, we would have ended up around the same place if qualifying had finished out or if we went off of practice times. I'm happy with the XM Satellite Radio car and looking forward to the race."

Andretti to Start Fifth in NYSE Car at Richmond

Marco Andretti and the #26 NYSE car will start from the fifth position for Saturday night's running of the SunTrust Indy Challenge Presented by XM Satellite Radio after rain cancelled qualification attempts at Richmond International Raceway and the field was set based on practice times recorded during Friday's practice sessions.

Marco Andretti, #26 NYSE Dallara/Honda/Firestone:
"To be honest, I had to qualify early and I think the track was only getting better. I think maybe we would have ended up a little worse than fifth. Who knows? I'm happy to be in fifth. In practice, the NYSE car has been great and very comfortable. I think we'll have a good car underneath us and I think we can win the race."

Franchitti to Start on the Outside of Row Five In Klein Tools/Canadian Club Car at Richmond

Dario Franchitti will start the Klein Tools/Canadian Club car from the 10th position, on the outside of teammate Bryan Herta, for Saturday night's running of the SunTrust Indy Challenge Presented by XM Satellite Radio. The qualifying session for the 250-lap event was rained out so the field was set based on combined practice session times from Friday.

Dario Franchitti, #27 Klein Tools/Canadian Club Dallara/Honda/Firestone:
"I think the Klein Tools/Canadian Club car could have started a little further up if we would have gotten to qualify. We've been continually changing the setup of the car all day. We've been chipping away at it all weekend and I'm happy with the job the crew has done. Traditionally, Richmond is a track that doesn't matter where you start because anything can happen here."

ESPN2 will provide live broadcast coverage beginning at 8 p.m. (EDT). The entire IndyCar Series schedule can be heard live by XM Satellite Radio subscribers by tuning into XM channel 145, the exclusive home of the IndyCar Series.
