Charlotte, North Carolina, April 29, 1999 -- When Indy Racing League top ten team Dreyer & Reinbold/SRS take the track, they like to enjoy a bright and clean image. For the 1999 Indianapolis 500, Dreyer & Reinbold/SRS will get some help from Purex, the nation's #2 detergent, which has agreed to serve as the team's Co-Primary Sponsor.
"We are truly excited to have such a powerful brand as our Co-Primary Sponsor for the world's most famous race," commented Dennis Reinbold of Dreyer & Reinbold/SRS. "Purex stands for excellence and everyone at Dreyer & Reinbold/SRS is working hard to achieve excellence this May."
Purex, a key brand of The Dial Corporation, has staked out a clear leadership position in the value segment of the laundry detergent industry with Purex enjoying a strong #2 brand position overall. The Dial Corporation is a $1.5 billion company based in Scottsdale, Arizona, that manufacturers and markets such other well-known consumer products as Dial soaps, Renuzit air fresheners, Armour Star canned meats and specialty personal care products under the Freeman, Sarah Michaels and Nature's Accents brand names.
"Purex is excited about being a part of the 1999 Indianapolis 500 with the Dreyer & Reinbold/SRS race team. This team, like Purex, is committed to winning," said Steve Tooker, Marketing Director for the Purex Franchise of The Dial Corporation. "We're looking forward to a great race with Robbie Buhl and the #44 Dreyer & Reinbold/SRS car at the 1999 Indianapolis 500."
The Dreyer & Reinbold/SRS race team is currently sixth in the Indy Racing League entrant standings. Driver Robbie Buhl stands seventh in Driver Points, having led the team to a season's best finish of 3rd at Phoenix International Raceway in March.
"The support from Purex should make our Indy efforts even stronger," stated Buhl. "We believe the #44 Purex Infiniti is in an excellent position to challenge for the 1999 Indianapolis 500 Championship."
