Matsuura on Row Eight for Honda Indy 225

Kosuke Matsuura has qualified 16th for the Honda Indy 225 at Pikes Peak International Raceway. Matsuura, who is preparing for his second career start on the one-mile tri-oval, was pleased to have an opportunity to qualify after threatening clouds hovered throughout the afternoon lowering temperatures and producing strong winds.

Matsuura claimed his fifth top-10 finish of the season last weekend in Kentucky with an eighth-place run, and carries confidence for a solid result in tomorrow's 225-lap race.

Kosuke Matsuura, #55 Panasonic ARTA Panoz/Honda/Firestone: "The car was pretty good for qualifying but the gearing was a little bit too low because the wind really pushed me hard. From practice, the wind direction was the complete opposite for qualifying in Turn Four and Turn One and sixth gear was a little bit too slow, but the car was good. I think we have a good race car and a very good chance tomorrow."
