AVONDALE, ARIZ (March 16, 2002) - Notes from the Bombardier ATV Copper World Indy 200: Tyce Carlson was involved in a single car incident in practice this morning, spinning his PDM Racing Dallara and making hard contact with the turn four wall.

AVONDALE, ARIZ (March 16, 2002) - Notes from the Bombardier ATV Copper World Indy 200:

Tyce Carlson was involved in a single car incident in practice this morning, spinning his PDM Racing Dallara and making hard contact with the turn four wall. Carlson was uninjured. The team has pulled the car from competition at Phoenix and is currently making repairs in order to compete next week at the Yamaha Indy 400 at the California Speedway.

PDM is still looking for a driver to compete in the remaining Indy Racing League events in 2002. The team is currently considering Greg Ray, Jeret Schroeder, Memo Gidley and Mark Dismore for next weekend's event at Fontana.

The Unser Family announced today the development of The Unser Children's Discovery Center and Racing Museum, which will be built in their hometown of Albuquerque, New Mexico. The hands-on interactive facility has a mission to teach visitors the history of the internal combustion engine and the role of motorsports in the development of the passenger car.

The museum will also house an exhibit featuring the story of the legendary 'Unser Family of Racing' with personal memorabilia and a collection of race cars from the past.

The museum will sit on a 12 acre site, located at Unser Blvd. and historical US Rt. 66, which was formerly used as the Unser family 24-hour wrecker business.

In preparation for the 86th running of the Indianapolis 500, Team Rahal has entered Jimmy Vasser, driver of the Miller Lite Chevrolet-powered Dallara, in the Yamaha 400 at the California Speedway next weekend.

The Bombardier ATV Copper World Indy 200 features a midway area behind the main grandstand bustling with activity. Bombardier is giving race fans a chance to test drive their latest line of personal off-road vehicles on a special course built just behind the turn one grandstand. The hours of operation on race day are 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Interested spectators at this weekend's race included rock legend Alice Cooper whose Cooper's Town restaurant is catering Billy Boat's hospitality area this weekend.

Scottsdale, Arizona resident Arie Luyendyk attended qualifying at PIR today. Luyendyk indicated his son Arie Luyendyk Jr. would most likely compete in the Infiniti Pro Series in 2002.

Davey Hamilton had hoped his recovery would permit him to return to racing this weekend at Phoenix. Davey is still recuperating from his injuries at Texas Motor Speedway last June. Davey's father Ken, who finished third in today's Supermodified race, said that doctors will allow his son to get in a go kart sometime in late June.
