Sharp to Start 8th After Qualifying Rainout

Scott Sharp will make his fifth career start at Nashville Superspeedway from the eighth spot on the grid after qualifying for the Firestone Indy 200 was rained out this afternoon. The starting lineup has been set based on practice times from two sessions with Sharp's fastest lap in practice resulting in his career best starting position on the challenging 1.33-mile oval.

Tomorrow's 200-lap race will mark Sharp's 107th IndyCar Series career start and record 99th consecutive start. He recorded his best result to date at Nashville Superspeedway in 2001, with a fifth-place run.

Scott Sharp, #8 Delphi Panoz/Honda/Firestone: "I am really pleased with the progress the Delphi Fernandez team made today. I think if we had the chance to qualify, we would be a few spots farther up. Still, we are solidly in the top 10 and I think we are going to have a good car for the race. Everyone is pretty pumped up right now."
