Lebanon, TN (July 17, 2004)-- The Firestone Indy 200 was an exciting race tonight on the 1.33-mile concrete oval of Nashville Superspeedway. Scott Sharp, the driver of the No. 8 Delphi entry, started the race in 15th position and took advantage of an early yellow flag to make a pit stop for adjustments to improve the car. This strategy played out well for the Delphi team as Scott was able to run well and on the next round of stops the team improved Scott's position by four spots. Despite Scott and the teams' best efforts as the race played out, Scott dropped to 14th position and that is where he finished the race, one lap down. Tony Kanaan was the winner of the race, while Sam Hornish Jr. finished second and Helio Castroneves finished third.

The Kelley Racing team will now return to their shop in Indianapolis to prepare for their next event, which will be held on July 25 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Scott Sharp, No. 8 Delphi/Dallara/Toyota/Firestone--- Quote

"Wow, we did all that work to only gain one spot from where we started? The Delphi car was pretty loose at the beginning of our runs but as we would get further in our stints, the car would get much better. We just didn't have enough to run up front tonight and that is disappointing but the crew guys did a super job on our pit stops so that was a positive."
