Curb Records team looking forward to Nashville appearance.
Nashville has been very good to Billy Boat. Last year, at the inaugural IRL race at the Nashville Superspeedway, Boat captured a second place finish - his best finish of the season; a fourth place start - also his best of the season; and led for 26 laps. In addition, Nashville is the home of CURB Records and it's owner/founder Mike Curb, Boat's sponsor and team co-owner.
"The CURB Records team is excited to come to Nashville for the Firestone Indy 200. I'm hoping to continue and even improve upon my success here last year. It would be great for us to have our first win of the season in Mike Curb's hometown. It's always a goal to make your sponsor proud and in this case, Mike's not only a sponsor, but also a partner and friend. "
Mike Curb, a music industry giant has a long time connection to Motorsports. In addition to the CURB/Agajanian/Boat Indy Racing team in the Indy Racing League, he has had interests in NASCAR and USAC racing for many years. Legendary NASCAR driver Richard Petty left Petty Enterprises in a shocking move and scored his last two Winston Cup Victories for Mike Curb Racing. USAC Silver Crown and NASCAR Busch series standout Brad Noffsinger also drives for a CURB team.
"My affiliation with Mike Curb has been fantastic. Mike's been a great partner and it's fantastic to have the CURB Records label behind us. They're one of the biggest and best in the music industry -- Tim McGraw, LeAnn Rimes, Jo Dee Messina, the Judds, you don't get much better than that. Jo Dee Messina and Naomi Judd have been out to races before and it's great. The CURB/Agajanian/Boat Indy Racing team is hoping to put on a great show for all the fans in Nashville and having this strong connection to the city just makes it that much better."
We've run a lot of laps at the Nasvhille Superspeedway, and we think we have a pretty good handle on the racetrack, so if we can start toward the front we'll do our best to stay there. When you get as close as I did last year, you always want to win. This year, with my new team and Darrell Soppe as my engineer, I'm pretty confident that the CURB Records car will put on a great show. This team is really coming together. They're doing a great job. I just want to thank Mike Curb, the whole CURB Records gang and everybody on the team. We're looking forward to a great race."
The CURB/Agajanian/Boat Indy Race team will be at the Nashville Superspeedway on July 20 for the Firestone Indy 200. The race airs live on ESPN at 7:30pm EDT.
