"The Japan race event is one of the very best we'll have all season. It's always an exciting race and the fans really come out to support the race. Team 7-Eleven has been fortunate to have some good results the last few years and to have qualified well also. We always seem to be in the mix at Motegi and this year should be no different."

Tony Kanaan Facts

* Kanaan has collected a pair of top-five finishes in the first two races of the season; a fifth-place result at Homestead and a third-place finish at the Honda Grand Prix of St. Petersburg.

* This will be Kanaan's 10th career start at Motegi. He has finished in the top six on six occasions with a career best of second coming in 2004. He finished third at Motegi in 2006.

* Along with teammates Bryan Herta and Dario Franchitti, Kanaan drove to a win at the 12 Hours of Sebring on March 17. The trio collected the LMP2 class victory in AGR's first ALMS start.
