Firestone Tire Performance Summary: Firestone engineers brought a new tire for the Indy Japan 300, and it performed well. It proved to be consistent through long runs and had good grip. This same tire will be used throughout the month of May and at this year's Indianapolis 500.

From Tony Kanaan, Andretti Green Racing Team 7-Eleven Dallara/Honda/Firestone: "As usual...great tires! We did a stint-plus and they still look good for another 20. So I have to say, hats off for Firestone. I mean, as usual, they were great. It's good to know because it's the same tire we're going to try to win Indy with next month! So it's a good feeling."

From Al Speyer, Executive Director, Firestone Racing: "Congratulations to Tony Kanaan and everyone at Andretti Green Racing. They matched great performance with good pit strategy at the end to take the win. The new Firestone Firehawks that we debuted at Motegi received widespread praise from drivers and teams, which is excellent because it is our Indy 500 tire for 2007. During the race, several cars ran 70 laps (the equivalent of a stint and a half) on one set of tires with virtually no dropoff in performance. So that makes both the teams and Firestone confident heading in to the month of May."
