Wheldon's first practice session was cut short due to a mechanical issue in the left-rear area of the car.
Dan Wheldon, #26 Klein Tools/Jim Beam Dallara/Honda/Firestone
"I think we still have a fair bit of work to do on the Klein Tools/Jim Beam car, but it was good to get out and get an idea of what the car felt like when it was full of fuel. It was a good end to the day for the Klein Tools/Jim Beam crew."
Bryan Herta, #7 XM Satellite Radio Dallara/Honda/Firestone
"The XM Satellite Radio crew had a pretty productive day. It was a lot better than it looked on the time sheet. We made some good changes, particularly in the second session where I think we made some progress with the car. I think we need a little bit more, but we're not terribly far off."
Dario Franchitti, #27 ArcaEx Dallara/Honda/Firestone
"We worked hard to find a balance for the ArcaEx car. We made a lot of changes from the morning to the afternoon practice sessions and we managed a pretty good long run that's going to give us more information about what changes we should make for qualifying tomorrow. I think the ArcaEx car is in pretty good shape and with a couple of minor adjustments, we'll be there."
Tony Kanaan, #11 Team 7-Eleven Dallara/Honda/Firestone
"We spent a lot of time working on our race setup for the Team 7-Eleven car. We'll see what we have for qualifying tomorrow, then we'll concentrate some more on our race setup. But I really feel that we have a strong race car and I'm pretty happy with our progress. We have good information and we'll put the engineers to work to find a good car for the race. Lately, I've had to pass a lot of cars in the race so I don't think it will be too much of a problem if I have to pass three or four."
