Milwaukee Race a Major Milestone for Scott Sharp

Scott Sharp will make his 100th consecutive IndyCar Series start this weekend when the historic Milwaukee Mile hosts the ABC Supply Company -- AJ Foyt 225. Sharp is the only driver to have competed in every season since the IRL's inception in 1996, making his debut with A.J. Foyt Enterprises in the inaugural IndyCar Series race at Disney World. Ranked second in the series for career wins, he has contested 107 of a possible 112 races.

Sharp heads to Milwaukee fresh off a fourth-place finish in Nashville last weekend, and six top-seven finishes in nine races held to date this season. His consistency has taken him to a sixth-place ranking in the championship standings, and Sharp will be looking to make his 100th consecutive start a memorable one with a win this Sunday.

* Will be making his second IndyCar Series start at Milwaukee

* Finished fifth in the last one-mile oval event at Phoenix

* Has recorded four top-five finishes to date this season, and six top-seven finishes

* Currently sits sixth in the championship standings

* Best qualifying effort to date this season was third at Japan and Indianapolis

* Will be making his 108th IndyCar Series start and record 100th consecutive start

Scott Sharp, #8 Delphi Panoz/Honda/Firestone: "It will be a special moment for me at the start of the race at Milwaukee to celebrate my 100th. The landscape has really changed throughout those 100 races within the IRL, and I have watched the series grow and the level of competition get stronger and stronger. I am very appreciative of the opportunities that I have had in my career, and ecstatic with the opportunity that I have now with this team. I am especially proud that in 92 of those races, I have been driving for Delphi. There are very few motorsports sponsor/driver relationships that rival what Delphi and I have, and I hope to extend it 100 more."

"I always feel such nostalgia when I go to Milwaukee. There is such a rich racing history there, and it is an honor to race in front of our core fans. The Delphi Fernandez team has been very strong on the short tracks, and we go there knowing that we have a great chance to win. What makes Milwaukee so exciting is the width of the track. There are multiple lines and ample room for passing which is quite unusual for a one-mile oval. I'm excited just thinking about it."
