Sharp Pleased with Progress in Milwaukee

The IndyCar Series kicked off on-track activities today as teams concluded two practice sessions in preparation for the ABC Supply Company -- AJ Foyt 225 on Sunday. Scott Sharp ended the day pleased with the team's progress on the demanding short oval. Sharp, who was eighth quickest in the first session, finished 12th quickest overall.

Sharp will be making his 100th consecutive IndyCar Series career start this Sunday, and will be looking to secure a top spot on the grid during tomorrow's Marlboro Pole Award Qualifying.

Scott Sharp, #8 Delphi Panoz/Honda/Firestone:

"It was a pretty productive day for the Delphi Fernandez team. We really tried to use this extra day, which we are not used to having on a race weekend, to try some things we have been wanting to try. We were able to get through quite a lot of things, and feel like we have a pretty good handle. We still have a little bit of work to do. We haven't really tried to go as fast as we can yet. We will leave that for the morning. Basically, we are trying to learn as much as we can and work on a car for the race. I think we are okay; we just need to keep taking some steps forward."
