Rahal Letterman Racing^0x2ce0Vitor Meira continued to lead the Honda Indy Racing League effort Saturday in single-car qualifying, taking the IndyCar Series pole for Sunday. Menards A.J. Foyt 225 at the Milwaukee Mile. It was Meira's 0second career IRL pole, but his first for 2004.JIt also marks the eighth IndyCar pole for Honda in nine events this season.J Honda drivers again swept the top three qualifying positions, the sixth time this season Hondas have qualified first through third, or better.JIndyCar points leader Tony Kanaan will start on the outside of the front row for Andretti Green Racing, followed by Meira^0x2ce0teammate, Indianapolis 500 winner Buddy Rice.

Veteran Adrian Fernandez will start sixth for his own Fernandez Racing team, just ahead of Dario Franchitti in another Andretti Green Racing entry. One of Franchitti's teammates, Bryan Herta, will line up 11th in his Honda Dallara, with Dan Wheldon in the fourth Andretti Green machine qualifying 17th.

Making his second start for Access Motorsports ^0x086ed first ever appearance at the Milwaukee Mile, rookie Mark Taylor qualified 18th.JRookie points leader Kosuke Matsuura survived a wild slide during his qualifying run, avoided contact with the wall and will start 22nd.

We went out and set the mark. Everybody at Rahal Letterman Racing is working so well together. It^0x2ce0Bobby [Rahal], Buddy [Rice], myself, our engineers Ray Leto and Todd Bowland, the crews and just everyone at the team working hard to get to the top of the charts. I feel good about the race. I think Buddy and I have good race cars and I expect us to be right up front for the race. This is my first time here at Milwaukee and it is a lot like a road circuit in the corners. I think that has helped me get ready for this track. Now we^0x2b2c be ready for the race.^0xa28a
