Brooklyn, MI (August 1, 2004)---Kelley Racing and Scott Sharp were able to put together their fourth top-ten finish of the season today at the Michigan International Speedway. Sharp started from the 18th position in the No. 8 Delphi entry. Despite falling a lap down early in the race, Sharp and the Delphi crew were able to utilize alternative race strategy that got Sharp back on the lead lap and into the top-ten. Sharp finished his day on the lead lap and in ninth position.

The Kelley Racing crew will now return to their shop in Indianapolis to prepare for their next event to be held at the Kentucky Speedway on August 15.

Scott Sharp -- #8 Delphi/Dallara/Toyota/Firestone--Quote

"It was nice to finally put a race together that we feel good about and with a strong finish. We qualified 18th and we really didn't have the speed of the front running cars so to be able to find a way to bring it home ninth is nice. The Delphi crew gave me good stops all day and we had to battle back from being a lap down. If I stayed right behind the car in front it was just enough to suck me along and stay with the pack. My engineer, Andy (Borme), made a few changes during the race and we got to where we were just good enough at the end so that when a couple of guys faltered we were able to capitalize on it and pick up a few spots."
