Brooklyn, MI (July 31, 2004)---Kelley Racing and Scott Sharp qualified today for the Michigan Indy 400 to be held tomorrow. Sharp turned a fast lap of 211.211 mph good for 19th position on the starting grid. Tony Kanaan will start from the pole for tomorrow's race after posting a fast lap of 215.871 mph while Helio Castroneves will start second and Kosuke Matsuura will start third. Sunday's 200-lap event is scheduled for a 3:25 p.m. green flag (local time) and will be televised live on ABC.

Scott Sharp -- #8 Delphi/Dallara/Toyota/Firestone--Quote

"This was our fastest speed of the weekend, so a big thanks to the Delphi team. It's always good to peak in qualifying. We're not running as quick as we really want, obviously. But yesterday we were able to draft pretty well and I don't think that qualifying position will be that important once the green flag drops tomorrow. We'd certainly love to have a few miles per hour more speed but I feel confident that we have a good car for the draft game tomorrow."

Qualifying Results
Speed: 211.211 mph
Time: 34.0891 seconds
Position: 19th
