Thiago Medieros is the latest driver to fill a seat to compete in the 90th running of the Indianapolis 500. Medieros will attempt to make his first IndyCar Series start driving for PDM Racing. Entered to race at California Speedway in 2005, Medieros crashed his Dreyer and Reinbold entry in practice and was unable to compete in the race.

According to the Indianapolis Star Townsend Bell has been confirmed to drive the third Vision Racing entry. Bell started in the final 10 events of the 2004 season driving for Panther Racing, recording 5 top-ten finishes. He competed in one event in 2005, driving a Panther entry at Michigan where he qualified 10th and finished 15th after a late race crash.

Arie Luyendyk has assembled several members of his old Treadway Racing squad for son Arie Jr. Skip Faul will oversee the team that will field a Panoz chassis from Ganassi Racing. As part of the Ganassi equipment package, Mitch Davis, one of Ganassis's engineers, will be helping Airie Jr. get up to speed in his attempt to qualify for his first IndyCar Series race. Luyendyk Jr. was bumped for the 2005 field by late A.J. Foyt entry driven by Felipe Giaffone.

Jaques Lazier and Jon Herb have been tabbed as the drivers for Playa del Racing. In an announcement made today, Lazier's car will be sponsored by Videopoker.com.
