ST. LOUIS, July 26 - Although Ray Parsons of Parsons Motorsports Marketing is out of the hospital and feeling better, he and Indy Racing League star Robby McGehee have decided to sit out this weekend's Michigan Indy 400 at Michigan International Speedway in order to regroup.

Raelene Crower, director of sponsor relations and marketing for Parsons Motorsports Marketing, said that an announcement on Parsons and McGehee's plans for the remaining four Indy Racing League races this year should be announced by Monday.

"After careful consideration, we decided to sit this race out in order to regroup for the rest of the year and to be fair to both Robby and our sponsors," Crower said.

"We want to feel better organized, and this break from the actual racing competition has allowed us to do that," she continued. "We fully intend to compete in the remaining four races, and we should be able to make a more specific announcement about our plans in the matter of days."

The team is continuing its quest to find additional marketing partners for the remaining four events this year. They are: Kentucky Speedway Aug. 11; Gateway Int'l Raceway in McGehee's hometown of St. Louis on Aug. 25; Chicagoland Speedway Sept. 8 and Texas Motor Speedway Sept. 15.
