INDIANAPOLIS, IN -- Two-time Indy 500 winner Arie Luyendyk is scheduled to test Treadway-Hubbard Racing's G-Force Tuesday at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Luyendyk, whose second Indy victory in 1997 came while driving for the Treadway team, expects to compete for his 17th career start at the Brickyard next May. He returned to Indy 500 action this year qualifying sixth and finishing 13th, after sitting out the 2000 race.

Treadway-Hubbard has been one of the IRL's most competitive teams since the league was formed in 1996 with five wins and a 70 percent top-10 finishing rate. The team is exceptionally strong at the Indianapolis 500, having led the race in every year they have competed with four different drivers. Scott Cronk, team vice president, said Treadway-Hubbard is currently working on various driver-sponsor options to field at least one car for the full 2002 IRL season in addition to Luyendyk for the Indianapolis 500 and at least one race prior to Indy.
