Matsuura Brings Confidence to Belterra Casino Indy 300

Rookie points leader Kosuke Matsuura [Kohs-kay Mat-sur-ah] will make his first start at the 1.5-mile Kentucky Speedway tri-oval this weekend as the IRL IndyCar® Series journeys to the Sparta circuit for the Belterra Casino Indy 300. Matsuura heads into Sunday's 200-lap race looking to pick up where he left off in Michigan. Matsuura was among the fastest cars all weekend, but was unable to capitalize on a second-place starting position and strong run in the race -- a victim of a pit lane incident and late-race contact. Matsuura is hoping to be in the right place at the right time this weekend when Round 11 of the IndyCar Series championship gets underway.

Kosuke Matsuura, #55 Panasonic ARTA Panoz G Force/Honda/Firestone:

"I am excited for the race at Kentucky Speedway this weekend. We have had very good cars on the 1.5-mile tracks, and it also helps that Adrian [Fernandez] and I tested there last week. I think both myself and the team have a lot of motivation going into this weekend. The last race at Michigan was one of our best weekends so far this season -- well, up until the last 50 laps of the race -- but we showed what we are capable of. I have a lot of confidence for this weekend."
