Curb Records Team hopes for a win with four to go in season.
Napoleon Hill once said, "Patience, persistence and perspiration make an unbeatable combination for success." Victor Hugo called perseverance, "the secret of all triumphs."
The CURB/Agajanian/Boat Indy Racing team is very familiar with all of those "P" words -- and now they're ready for another one PREVAIL.
Billy Boat is ready for success, "I think that with 4 races left in the season, the focus of CURB Records team for Kentucky is really to try and break out of the little slump we've been in. I feel that the team is ready to break through with some top finishes and hopefully the Kentucky Speedway will be the place to do it. We've been knocking on the door to success -- the car is fast - we've just not been able to put the pieces together."
There have been eight different winners in the eleven races this season in the Indy Racing League. After a season full of challenges, Billy Boat is hoping to make it twelve. William A. Ward said, "Adversity causes some men to break; other to break records." Perhaps this will be the weekend that the #98 finally breaks through.
The Belterra Casino Indy 300 will be the twelfth of fifteen races in the 2002 IRL season. With a sixth place finish there last year and recent improvements to the track, Boat has high expectations for the weekend, "With the newly repaved surface, I expect that the racing at the Kentucky Speedway will be even better than ever -- fans will see a lot side by side racing, with increased speeds from last year."
Considering that last years' pole speed, set by Scott Sharp, was 214.598 mph and IRL teams have already tested at over 222 mph, there's no doubt that fans will be in for a good show at this year's race.
The Belterra Casino Indy 300 will be televised live on ABC at 1:30pm EDT on Sunday, August 11. The pre-race "Indy Racing 2Day" will be televised beginning at 1:00pm EDT on ESPN 2.
