The character and heart of a race team are not measured in victories or championships. Instead it's determined on the days the team doesn't finish first. Today both Kelley drivers had fast cars, unfortunately luck was not on Mark Dismore and Scott Sharp. Mark Dismore was running consistently in the top ten, waiting for the time to make his move, a gearbox failure on the first pit stop slowed his progress. Mark ended the day in 14th position but managed to hang on for fifth in the points. Scott Sharp charged from 24th starting position to 2nd before stalling on the final pit stop due to a fading clutch. Scott finished 13th, and should finish in the eight in points.

Mark Dismore #28 OnStar/Bryant Dallara/Oldsmobile: "My car was fast, I was waiting until the right time. Our pit stop was awesome we would have come out 3rd, but there was a failure in the gearbox. I just want to thank OnStar and Bryant, and tell my team I love them. I' going to race until I'm 70 if that's what it takes to have success."

Scott Sharp #8 Delphi Automotive Systems/Worldcom Dallara/Oldsmobile: "The Delphi car was awesome, we had a little tightness in traffic, but I could live with it. We had a slipping clutch all day, but were fine on the track. It stalled on the last pit stop, or else we would have been there. The Delphi team will be back stronger than ever next year, I promise you that."
