Kelley Racing Crew Member Spotlight: Mike Colliver

Mike Colliver joined Kelley Racing just prior to the 2002 Indianapolis 500 as Team Engineer for the Corteco/Bryant car and driver Al Unser, Jr.

Colliver's more that 13 years experience in motorsports began as a driver. Prior to turning his career focus to the technical side of the sport engineering changes to cars and calling race strategy, Colliver competed in Skip Barber Formula Ford as well as SCCA Regional and National Formula Ford and Formula Continental Series.

He was born and lived through high school graduation in Greenville, Ohio. Colliver graduated from Purdue University with a degree in Bio-Medical Engineering and contemplated a career in medicine as a surgeon; however, his love of racing altered that course.

Being a member of the 1996 Indianapolis 500 winning team with driver Buddy Lazier ranks as one of his greatest achievements to date. With the Indianapolis Motor Speedway being his favorite track on the circuit, it is no surprise one of his motorsports goals is to win the Indy 500 at least five more times and three IRL championships while he is at it.

Colliver is 37 years old, single and currently calls Indianapolis home. His divergent interests range from boating and all water sports to reading and collecting books as well as traveling and being an avid college and professional football fan.
