Firestone Tire Performance Summary: Firestone brought the same tire specification to Kansas Speedway that was previously used at Homestead earlier this season. Temperatures were considerably cooler at this event than in previous races at this track, and there could have been some concerns with the rubber that the trucks put down in their race yesterday. But the Firehawks ran well with no wear or durability issues.
From Dan Wheldon, Target Chip Ganassi Racing Dallara/ Honda/Firestone: "It was good. Those were very challenging track conditions for everybody because it was pretty slippery out there, and obviously it was gusty. But you know, yet again, the Firestone Firehawks performed very well - very consistent, and as you can tell by the lap speeds they were definitely providing enough grip to drive fast, so that's certainly good!"
From Joe Barbieri, Manager, Firestone Racing: "Although a few teams had some handling issues, it was certainly due more to car setups than to tires. I think this was proven by the performance of the top cars, considering how well they ran with no tires issues at all. Firestone Racing congratulates Dan Wheldon and Target Chip Ganassi Racing for another dominating performance. And, like everyone else, we enjoyed being here at Kansas in April and are looking forward to the month of May."
