Johnny Unser will not be driving in this weekend's Indy Racing League Indy 200 at Walt Disney World. Johnny is still in the process of putting his program together and hopes to be ready to run from Phoenix on.

It is no secret that while the new Oldsmobile Aurora engine has had extensive testing and evaluation by several drivers and teams over the past few months, the new Infiniti engine was first tested only one week before practice and qualifying for the Indy 200. While Johnny and his sponsors believe that the Infiniti motor will prove to be a strong contender later in the year, they made the decision to conduct more thorough testing and to focus on the next IRL race in Phoenix.

Although we understand that this is is a disappointment to many of Johnny's fans, we are working with a team and sponsorship package that will allow Johnny to drive the remainder of the IRL season and to compete in his second Indianapolis 500.

Johnny will also be competing in the Rolex 24Hrs of Daytona on February 1st & 2nd, co-driving the new C7 Callaway Corvette in the GTS-1 class. Portions of the race will be carried live on ESPN2 and we will have frequent updates all weekend long and hourly updates during the race posted to our e-mail list and to our website.

You can sign up to have up to the minute news, scoring, and updates for the Rolex 24 Hrs of Daytona and the Indy 200 at WDW e-mailed to you for free. Just visit the Johnny Unser Racing site at http://www.unser-racing.com and follow the instructions.
