Driver: Jeff Ward Car: Pagan Racing No. 21 Dallara/Aurora/Goodyear Qualifying Position - 5th 24.575 / 219.736

Quotes: -Jeff Ward- We've had a third (Orlando) and a second (Phoenix) so hopefully this will be a first. We ran real well here last year except for a little problem at the end.

Pagan Racing has great equipment. We brought most of the guys over that we had been working with for a year so the set up wasn't any different. We are right where we left off.

(On the qualifying run) It felt OK. I thought I was going to be a little quicker. The motor just seemed like it didn't pull really strong. It didn't feel as strong as in practice. Maybe we just needed to get some more laps to get some of the grip away from the tires. It had so much grip that it might have bogged us down a bit.

We left the gearing a little too high. In practice we hit the rev limiter. A lower gear would have given me a couple of hundred RPM, maybe a half a mile an hour. I'm pretty happy with starting in the top five.

(On racing at Charlotte) I enjoy racing at Charlotte. It's a lot of fun. You can see just like it's daylight. It's more spectacular for the spectators with the lights flashing on the cars. It's just really neat. I need a win so I'm going to try hard.

Quotes - Allan Pagan (car owner) - Jeff said the car is real well balanced, he's very comfortable and he can race with it. The set up won't change a whole lot for tomorrow.
