Mid America Motorsports made their debut Monday at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, as Doug Didero rolled onto the track becoming the first Canadian entered IRNL team to compete in the Indy 500.

"The new 2000 Dallara felt fantastic the team has done a terrific job," Didero said. "It's very comfortable to drive". The Mid America Motorsports Inc./Western Star Trucks Dallara recorded a lap of 217.981 M.P.H. "The engine reached the rev limiter a couple of times unexpectedly, so we've changed the gear ratios for Tuesday and hope to reach 220 m.p.h.
