Today's (Wednesday, Dec. 6) rookie test at Texas Motor Speedway, being administered by the Indy Racing Northern Light Series, has been postponed until Thursday, Dec. 7 due to cold weather conditions.

Pennzoil Panther Racing is assisting with Indy Racing League competition license tests for three United States Auto Club (USAC) drivers. Tracy Hines, Kasey Kahne, and Derek Davidson were unable to complete their Indy rookie tests at Kentucky Speedway in November due to cold and rainy weather.

Hines is the 2000 USAC Coors Light Silver Bullet Series Champion; Davidson finished fifth in the 2000 USAC Stoops Freightliner Sprint Car Series point standings; and Kahne is winner of the 2000 USAC MCI WorldCom Midget Cars Series. Indy Racing advisors, including Johnny Rutherford, will assist in the orientation and testing. In addition, Sam Hornish, Jr., Pennzoil Panther's new driver for the 2001 season, will be in attendance to help the rookies.
