1. Unser designs ornament for CARA: Four-time Indianapolis 500 winner Al Unser has designed a special Christmas tree ornament to benefit CARA Charities.
Unser is this year's celebrity designer for CARA Charities's popular Christmas Ornament, a series of tree adornments designed by auto racing personalities that began in 1992.
Unser's design, "Snowmobile Holiday Landscape" incorporates "Big Al's" love for the mountain of New Mexico and his need for speed.
The CARA Charities' ornaments ($20.00 each) are available on its website at www.caracharities.org. Other auto racing personalities who have designed ornaments include: 1992 -- Johnny Rutherford; 1993 -- Rick Mears; 1994 -- Mario Andretti; 1995 -- Al Unser Jr.; 1996 -- Emerson Fittipaldi; 1997 -- Bobby Rahal; 1998 -- Arie Luyendyk; 1999 -- Michael Andretti; 2000 -- A.J. Foyt; 2001 -- Paul Newman; 2002 -- Alex Zanardi; 2003 -- Helio Castroneves; 2004 -- Gil de Ferran.
CARA Charities is also offering a variety of memorabilia from the Raceway Rendezvous "Guns & Garters" charity event at California Speedway on Oct. 14 as part of a special online auction through Dec. 13.
