EXPERIMENTATION WAS THE FOCUS FOR VISION RACING TODAY IN PRACTICE FOR THE 90TH RUNNING OF THE INDIANAPOLIS 500

SPEEDWAY, Indiana -- Vision Racing completed a total of 71 laps between its three drivers today before the rain settled in and ended practice early for the second day in a row. Experimentation and trialing rather than sheer speed were at the top of the priority list for the team today, and the benefit of a three-car team allowed them to do just that.

Tomas Scheckter in the #2 Vision Racing Dallara/Honda/Firestone again led the way for the team turning in the 11th quickest time of 223.106 mph. Bell in the #90 Rock & Republic Vision Racing Dallara/Honda/Firestone (221.659 mph) and Carpenter in the #20 Vision Racing Dallara/Honda/Firestone (220.661 mph) followed in the 16th and 18th spots on the speed chart.

The Vision Racing trio will take to the famed 2.5-mile Brickyard again tomorrow for practice starting at noon and lasting until 6:00 p.m. (EDT).

90th Running of the Indianapolis 500 Practice Results (May 10, 2006) and Quotes:

Tomas Scheckter -- #2 Vision Racing Dallara/Honda/Firestone

On practice for the day:

"Today was good because we were able to try some different things and share more information. Each day we keep getting better and learning more about the car so I expect to keep improving the rest of the week and be prepared for qualifying on Saturday."

Townsend Bell-- #90Rock & Republic Vision Racing Dallara/Honda/Firestone

On practice for the day:

"Another good solid day for the team. All three of us were trying different things and we learned a lot. The race track was a little different today with the wind being down and it made it easier to work my way around. The team is really doing a great job of maximizing all three of us and I can't wait to get back on track tomorrow."

Ed Carpenter -- #20 Vision Racing Dallara/Honda/Firestone

On practice for the day:

"We tried a lot of different things today between the three cars. We were working on race and qualifying setups. The approach we tried is inconclusive, but either way we learned a lot from today and we're ready to move forward tomorrow."
