Tomas Enge Gets Quicker at Indianapolis

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. -- IndyCar Series rookie Tomas Enge continued to improve his speed at Indianapolis Motor Speedway during the second day of the Rookie Orientation Program. Enge passed all four phases of the program yesterday in under two hours, and utilized his laps on Monday to get more comfortable with the historic 2.5-mile oval.

Tomas posted a top average lap speed of 219.914 mph, 40.4056 seconds, which is an improvement over his time from Sunday.

Practice at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway opens up for veterans tomorrow from noon until 6 p.m. Pole Day qualifications will take place on Saturday at IMS.

Tomas Enge:

"Driving the track for me today felt much better. This track is so special and so unique that it can be very difficult for the drivers. So we're just trying to take it slow in our RockStar Chevy and work our way up to faster speeds. My ribs still feel the same, but I'm getting comfortable and now we can start to work on the car. The speeds are getting better and now I want to get into the groove of this track."
