INDIANAPOLIS  --  Wednesday was Robby Gordon's last day of practice before Indianapolis 500 pole qualifying this Saturday, since he will be in Richmond, Va., all-day Thursday and Friday for NASCAR Busch Series and Cup practice and qualifying. Driving his backup Meijer/Coca-Cola Dallara-Chevrolet, Gordon went 219.034 mph in the concluding 15 minutes of practice, 13th best on the day. Tony Kanaan was fastest at 222.668 mph.    "We're back in the game," said Gordon. "I'd say we're back to where we were before the crash (Monday). It feels a lot better to go away (to Richmond) knowing we have a good car." Gordon said his speed was done on a "clean" lap and without a "tow" (draft) from another car.

Gordon, currently fifth in Busch Series points in his Fruit of the Loom Chevrolet, races in that event Friday night at Richmond. He then will return to Indianapolis to qualify the Meijer car Saturday, then takes a Citation-10 private jet back to Richmond for Saturday night's Chevy American Revolution 400, to drive the Cingular Wireless Chevy for Richard Childress Racing.
