CURB/Agajanian/Boat Indy Racing improves speeds on second day of practice.

When it started to rain at 6:15am on the second scheduled practice day for the Indianapolis 500, it looked like teams were going to be prohibited from taking those all important practice laps. However, by late afternoon the skies started to lighten and at 4:43pm (local time), the green flag was waved. The CURB/Agajanian/Boat #98 had time to run 25 laps before the checkered flag dropped at 6:00pm.

Billy Boat ended the day with the 9th fastest time - a 39.9961 second lap, running at 225.022 mph, merely .2989 seconds behind the day's fastest time. Defending Indy 500 champion Helio Catroneves led the short practice day with a time of 39.6972 and 226.716mph.

A satisfied Billy Boat said, "For a day that looked like it was going to be a complete washout, it was a fairly productive day for the CURB Records team. We still had a number of things we wanted to try and we got through most of those. We picked up a little more speed so we feel good about that. Like I've said before, this place takes patience, we have to inch up on it. We're at 225 today and we know we still have a little more to go to move up even further, but we feel we've got a car that's competitive, we're going to continue to work hard and inch our way up."

Barring any additional weather delays, the CURB team will be back on the track at 11:00am tomorrow for practice. In the history of the Indy 500, there have been a total of five races that have been shortened, two races that have had to be postponed mid-race and three races that have had to be completely postponed due to rain.
