Weather: Sunny, hot and humid at the start of practice with temperatures at 78 F and winds out of the southwest at 10 mph with gusts of 18 mph. At 4:00 pm, temperatures at 88 F and winds out of the west-southwest at 12 mph with gusts of 21 mph.
Practice Summary: Fernandez went out for an installation check at 2:55 pm, completing three laps. The team returned to the garage to make adjustments to the cockpit area and prepare for practice tomorrow.

"This is a brand new car, and there were some issues with the seat that we couldn't get right for the day so we just basically did an installation lap and that was it. We didn't have enough time. We didn't want to rush it. Our cars are running fast. Kosuke and Scott did a great job so it looks like we are in shape in that respect. This is a new car and new crew for me, and we want to make sure everything is perfect before we go back out to the track again."
