Helio Castroneves, 2001 Indianapolis 500 Winner
Marlboro Team Penske, #3 Marlboro Team Penske Dallara/Chevrolet
Qualified second - 26.6780 sec.
"We had to be very careful today during qualifying due to the strong winds. Fortunately, however, we were able to put the Marlboro car on the front row (Castroneves qualified second) for tomorrow's race. The car has been very consistent, and we've only had to make a few changes to it over the past few days. We've been working hard throughout the off-season, and hopefully we'll be able to carry that momentum tomorrow. It's a long race so we've got to make sure we're there at the end."
Gil de Ferran, Two-Time National Champion
Marlboro Team Penske, #6 Marlboro Team Penske Dallara/Chevrolet
Qualified sixth - 26.8159 sec.
"I gave it everything I had today -- I nailed it the whole way around. The wind made the car move around quite a bit, but that was the same thing we faced this morning. The Marlboro car has been very consistent all weekend (de Ferran's qualifying laps were within .0129 sec) which will be key for tomorrow's race."
