INFINITI NOTES:

*Infiniti kicks off its sixth season in the Indy Racing League in 2002 with a strong contingent of drivers including 1998 Indy 500 champion Eddie Cheever Jr., Robbie Buhl, rookie Frenchman Laurent Redon, and a second driver at Red Bull Cheever Racing.

*Since its debut in Spring 2001 the Infiniti Indy 35A has been through a complete design review. During the off-season development of the engine focused on a new electronics package and durability of core engine components. As a result, new updates will be provided for Infiniti teams this season that will further reduce the engine's center of gravity, make the engine a stronger stress member of the chassis, and significantly enhance horsepower and reliability.

*Eddie Cheever Jr. on the Grand Prix of Miami: "Homestead-Miami Speedway is very difficult because there is no banking and the wind is a major factor in determining the setup. Last year's race was the first time we finished in the top ten (ninth) with the Infiniti Indy 35A engine which was very new at that time. We have made a tremendous amount of progress on the engine since then with a new electronics package, and several modifications to help with reliability."
