BRACK'S BACK IN THE INDY RACING LEAGUE: Former Indy Racing League champion Kenny Brack is back in the series that made him a star in the U.S. auto racing circles. The 36-year-old Swedish driving sensation has returned to the IRL IndyCar Series after three years of competition in the CART Champ Car circuit. Brack, the 1998 IRL series titleholder, comes back to a series that looks much different from the one he left in 1999. "This IRL series is much different from when I raced in 1999," said Brack, who'll drive Team Rahal's No. 15 Pioneer/Miller Lite Honda Dallara on March 1-2 in the Toyota Indy 300 at Homestead Miami Speedway. "Back in 1999, there were about six or seven cars that really could win a race. Now, in 2003, there are 17 or 18 cars and drivers that can race for the win on any weekend. The competition level has jumped dramatically. It will be a very tough series. But that is a good challenge for our team and myself." In Brack's three years in the IRL (1997-1999), he won four races including the Indy 500 and the point championship in 1998. In his three years with CART, he won five races (including a season-high four in 2001 with Team Rahal), seven poles and finished second in the points in 2001. "We had a very good run in CART," said Brack. "We came close to winning the championship in 2001 and we won a bunch of races. So when Bobby (Rahal) came to me about running in the IRL with Honda, I was very excited and I think we can win races with Bobby's team again."

BACK WITH TEAM RAHAL IS GOOD HOMECOMING FOR BRACK: Brack will have another homecoming in 2003 as he is reunited with his Team Rahal crew that put him in the winner's circle many times in 2001. Brack led CART in wins, poles and laps led that season. In 2002, Brack drove from Ganassi Racing in CART. "It is very nice and comfortable to work with our similar crew," said Brack. "Just after a few hours of testing it was like we hadn't been away for over a year. We have a strong unit with Don Halliday (chief engineer), Ricardo Nault (chief mechanic) and some excellent mechanics. I'm anxious to be work with them again. It's exciting for everyone to be back together."

BRACK LOOKS FORWARD TO HOMESTEAD OVAL: The last time Kenny Brack competed at the Homestead Miami Speedway it also was his first time. Brack, in his first race in CART back in 2000, came to Homestead in his first race with Team Rahal and instantly made a big impression. He drove to the lead in his first CART event and only a mechanical problem kept Brack from reaching the winner's circle. Team Rahal still won that event with Brack's teammate, Miami resident Max Papis, taking the victory. "We had a very good car that day at Homestead," said Brack, "but we couldn't get to the finish. I like that Homestead track. It's fast and wide. It makes for good racing. It's a real test for the driver and the crew to get the car to handle properly. The car with the best handling will probably win the race." Brack is a unique driver in that he led his first IRL race (1997 in Phoenix) and his first CART race (2000 in Homestead). Only a handful of drivers have pulled off that feat."

BRACK EXPECTS PLENTY OF CONTENDERS IN 2003: Kenny Brack has been one of the of the top oval track drivers for the past six years in open-wheel racing.
