HOMESTEAD, Fl. (February 28, 2003)---Kelley Racing got their 2003 IndyCar Series season underway today with opening practice for the Toyota Indy 300 at Homestead-Miami Speedway. Al Unser Jr., driver of the No. 31 Corteco entry, also got a good start to the weekend by turning the 13th fastest time of the day at 27.3333 seconds/ 197.561 mph. Al Unser Jr. -- #31 Corteco/Dallara/Toyota/Firestone

"The Corteco car is running great. We had a little different set-up on the car this morning than what Scott (Sharp) had and it worked out that his set-up was better so we went that direction for this afternoon. The car did feel better, but I ran about the same speed because the ambient temperature was much higher and the track was in different conditions. All in all I feel good about where the Corteco team is right now but we do need to do a little more work to the car in the morning for qualifying but the team is doing a great job."

Scott Sharp -- #8 Delphi/Dallara/Toyota/Firestone

"We are very pleased for the Delphi crew. The guys worked really hard today and we got through a number of changes on the car. Everyone is in the race mode and we've tested a couple of times here so we're pretty comfortable with our set-ups. Now it's just a matter of tuning our cars to the current track conditions. Which for today was hot, humid and slippery. When we wanted to go fast we were able to do that, when we wanted to do long runs, we were able to do that as well. I'm pretty pleased, the Delphi team has worked hard preparing and I think that shows today."
