FONTANA, Calif. (Oct. 16, 2005) - XM Satellite Radio driver Bryan Herta finished 11th at Sunday's running of the Indy Racing League® IndyCar® Series California Indy 400. Herta finished eighth in the IndyCar Series championship in a season that included his second career IndyCar Series win.

Herta was settling into a groove 50 laps into the event when his visor malfunctioned, causing the driver of the XM Satellite Radio car to step off the gas and eventually fall a lap down on the field.

Herta used fuel strategy and conservation over the final 150 laps of the race to slowly move back through the field and challenge for a top-10 spot.

Andretti Green Racing finished first, second, fourth and eighth in the championship, with Dan Wheldon and Tony Kanaan taking the top-two positions. Dario Franchitti, who finished fourth in the championship, won his second race of the season. Rounding out the top five were Kanaan, Vitor Meira, Scott Sharp and Sam Hornish, Jr.

The 2006 IndyCar Series season begins on Sunday, March 26, from . The Homestead-Miami Speedway fourth race of the season, the 90th . The running of the Indianapolis 500, will take place on Sunday, May 28 .

Bryan Herta, #7 XM Satellite Radio Dallara/Honda/Firestone:

"I'm really unhappy about the visor problem we had. That is something that should never ruin a race for you and it ruined ours today. We had just moved into the top five and we were looking pretty good at that point. But, that cost us a lap and really put us behind for the rest of the day."

George Klotz, Team Manager, #7 XM Satellite Radio Dallara/Honda/Firestone:

"We were starting to make a charge there after the first pit stop. The XM car was really good. Then, we had a visor and tear-off problem, which forced us into the pits and we lost a lap. Bryan kept fighting and hung in there, and we got back on the lead lap toward the end. We were hoping to make up some more ground there, but then we had a suspension problem on the last corner and lost a position. But, all in all, it was a great year for the whole Andretti Green team."
