Dana Point, Ca., March 14, 2001: Dick Simon Racing changed the colors of their car from blue red white and gray to yellow, red and white, added new associate sponsors including Jack K. Elrod Company, America's spectator-seating specialist, Nada Guides, America's largest publisher of used vehicle values and, Mooney Aircraft Corporation which has been recognized by pilots worldwide as the leading designer and manufacturer of FAA-Certified, High-Performance, Single-Engine Aircraft.

One of the major changes over the winter was the chassis. After being a loyal G Force customer for many years, the team decided to switch to Dallara. "To me G Force and Dallara are two good chassis. I'm just excited to be driving a Dallara because I've been very loyal to G Force as a driver since 1997 and I wanted to give myself a new challenge. I think they are both good cars; both manufacturers make good equipment but for me as a driver, I'm excited to drive a Dallara this year just for a change." Declared Stephan Gregoire.

No driver during the pre-season testing at Phoenix International raceway made better time than Stephan Gregoire of Dick Simon Racing, who turned an unofficial best lap of 20.30 seconds in the team's 2001 Dallara/Oldsmobile/Firestone car. Gregoire also was fastest at 20.361 at the Indy Racing Test in the West on Feb. 9-10 at Phoenix.

"We are very excited about this new season" declared Dick Simon, owner of Dick Simon Racing. "Our team has worked very hard over the winter to make sure we are ready for the first race of the season. I kept all our staff and I am convinced that we should be very competitive. Stephan and I are starting our third season together and its now the time to prove that we can be a winning team."

At the eve of this first event of the 2001 Indy Racing Northern Light Series Dick Simon Racing is looking for a primary sponsor. "We are looking actively for a primary sponsor" announced Emmanuel Lupe, General Manager and Marketing Director. "Dick Simon Racing is one of the best IRL teams and we have everything we need to attract a new major sponsor." Said Lupe.

Entering the new millennium, the Indy Racing League Series stands for Good Value, Exceptional Fan Access and Exciting Entertainment and the IRL delivers a solid return on investment for all stakeholders involved."

"I believe that if our team does well this weekend in Phoenix" announced Lupe, "we should be able to attract some corporate sponsors. This is our third year with Stephan and this must be our season. With a budget ranging from $100,000 for one race to multi-million dollars for a three-year program, a company can become one of our corporate sponsors and will immediately feel the results of being associated with America's premiere open-wheel series."

"Dick Simon Racing has the reputation of providing the best track hospitality services to his sponsor and their guests. Dick Simon's national and international key contacts would give any potential sponsor the means to meet new customers, penetrate new markets, and generate additional business. Sponsorship of Dick Simon Racing is a win/win situation. Our team guarantees the best return on investment!" said Emmanuel Lupe.

Dick Simon has often been portrayed as "Mr. Sponsor". He is the team owner that brought the most new sponsors to the sport of open wheel racing. Simon's cars have always carried some of the most prestigious brands including "Fortune 500" companies like Mobil and Kodak. Amway, Duracell, Panasonic, Northwest Airlines, JC Penney, Hoechst Celanese, Maalox, Speedway, Fujitsu, Nike, Yellow Freight System, and many others have also enjoyed a successful partnership with the legendary racing celebrity.

To start the 2001 season, the team is proud to have four associate sponsors. Tokheim Corporation is the world's leading fuel dispenser manufacturer. Jack K. Elrod Company is a spectator-seating specialist. Nada Guides is America's largest publisher of used vehicle values, and Mooney Aircraft Corporation has been recognized by pilots worldwide as the leading designer and manufacturer of FAA-Certified, High-Performance, Single-Engine Aircraft. The team also enjoyed working with official suppliers NRG Cases Inc. and Stange Apparel.
