Atlanta, GA. -- The CNN Center will be filled with the rat-tat-tat of wheel guns on Wednesday, August 26th from 12noon to 2pm, as Indy 500 winner, Eddie Cheever and his #51 Rachel's Gourmet Potato Chip Crew take on Scott Goodyear's Pennzoil Panther Pack in the Pep Boys Indy Racing League Pit Stop Challenge for Charity.

In a Best 3-out-of-5 event, the two crews will compete head to head for $1000 to be donated by the Pep Boys organization to one of the teams' designated charities. While Panther Racing will be changing the wheels for Pep Boys IRL Ministries, Team Cheever will be handling the wrenches for Kids' Stuff Foundation.

"My guys are ready for the challenge," said Cheever of the event. "Racing, and these kind of events, is a great way to raise awareness and funds for charities close to our hearts."

Kids' Stuff Foundation (KSF) was founded in 1990 by Andrea Jaeger when a shoulder injury ended her career on the tennis circuit. KSF is a non-profit organization that brings children with cancer and other life-threatening diseases to Aspen, Colorado for a week of adventure in the Rocky Mountains through the Silver Lining Ranch. The Ranch provides a therapeutic setting to up to twenty children per session and a perfect year-round backdrop for many outdoor activities such as white-water rafting, hiking Aspen Mountain and sleigh rides. Cheever, a former resident of Aspen, Colorado became aware of the program through one of his crew members, Jim Iglehart, who has been instrumental in the construction of the Ranch itself.

"When Jim first told me of Andrea's work, I was immediately taken by the concept of "outdoors as therapy"," spoke Cheever of the organization. "Having kids of my own, I really appreciate how much it means to them to be able to kick back and just have some fun. I'm delighted that Team Cheever can be a resource for the Kids Stuff Foundation and their kids." The Pep Boys Indy Racing League Pit Stop Challenge kicks off a week of Pep Boys IRL activities at the Atlanta Motor Speedway where the inaugural Atlanta Classic 500 presented by MCI, Round 9 of the 11-race Pep Boys IRL series, takes shape August 27th-29th. The race starts at 9pm, August 29th and will be televised LIVE on TNN.
