"We had the opportunity to do a lot of long runs today. We don't have the fastest car out there, but Sunday's race isn't about speed, it's about consistency. We'll just have to see what happens tomorrow during qualifying. It's a 400-mile race, so it doesn't matter where you start as long as you're running at the end. We're going to keep working hard this weekend and hopefully I'll be able to bring the Marlboro car home in a good position."

-- Helio Castroneves, Marlboro Team Penske, 2001 Indianapolis 500 Winner
-- #3 Marlboro Team Penske Dallara/Chevrolet
-- Eighth fastest combined time - 32.7401 sec.

"The focus today was working on our race set-up. So far we're moving along as planned. We did full tank, long runs to see how the Marlboro car handled in traffic and race conditions. While overall the car was well-balanced, we're going to try to improve it some for the race. We weren't super fast today, but then again we weren't the slowest car out there. Tomorrow morning we'll work on our qualifying set-up. For qualifying, we'll try to run less drag than we will for the race. We don't really know what to expect so we'll have to wait and see how things pan out tomorrow."

-- Gil de Ferran, Marlboro Team Penske, Two-Time National Champion
-- #6 Marlboro Team Penske Dallara/Chevrolet
-- 16th fastest combined time - 32.9180 sec.
