Friday night's NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race will be titled the Chex 400. In addition to sponsoring the 400 kilometer race, Chex cereal will also sponsor Johnny Sauter's No. 15 Chevrolet Silverado.

Firestone delivered 828 Firehawk racing radials for use this weekend's Bombardier Learjet 500. All were produced at the Firestone Technical Center in Akron, Ohio. At the direction of Indy Racing League officials, each entered car will receive eight sets of tires (32 total) this weekend, to be used at the team's discretion throughout practice, qualifying and race sessions. The tire selected for this weekend's race is slightly different than the specification used at Texas Motor Speedway last season, combining the construction used for the fall race at TMS in 2004 and the tread compound used earlier this season at Homestead-Miami Speedway. This spec was successfully tested at TMS in March.

Wednesday night's celebrity bowling tournament raised $47,000 for Speedway Children's Charities. Sam Hornish Jr. won the event over the Bud Light team led by Dallas Cowboys safety Keith David. Other celebrity bowlers included Helio Castroneves, A.J. Foyt IV, Vitor Meira, Bryan Herta, and Dallas Cowboy players Terry Glenn and Patrick Clayton.

Jimmy Kite will become the first driver since Gordon Johncock to compete in an Indy style event and a stock car division at the same event. In 1980 Johncock competed in the ARCA stock car series and the CART open wheel race at Michigan. Kite will wheel the No. 91 Hemelgarn entry in the IndyCar Series and the No. 06 Royal Purple/MRD Motorsports Chevrolet in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series.

Texas Motor Speedway has hosted more NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series events than any other track. Hosting 14 truck series races since 1997, the track has produced 10 different winners. Brendan Gaughan has won four and Dennis Setzer has won twice. This is the 16th IndyCar Series event at Texas Motor Speedway.

Tomas Scheckter will present BJ Barnhart with the Platinum Prize at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The Platinum Prize, awarded by Pennzoil, is presented to car enthusiasts who best demonstrate how they protect and enhance their street vehicle. Barnhart's 1996 Chevrolet Impala, which is driven on the road daily, was recently awarded first place at the Super Chevy Show near Dallas.

Helio Castroneves lost a bet with Danica Patrick and had to appear at an autograph session wearing a Danica Patrick t-shirt. The wager was based on who would enjoy the better finish at the Indianapolis 500. Castroneves chose to make good on his wager at an autograph session on Wednesday night.

Prior to the broadcast of Saturday night's IndyCar Series race from Texas Motor Speedway ESPN will air a behind the scenes look at Danica Patrick's performance at the Indianapolis 500. "The Season: Danica Patrick's Race for Indy" will air on ESPN at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday.
