The Indy Racing League's first contest on a permanent road course in the League's ten-year history will be an historic occasion.
Argent Mortgage, the Irvine, CA company that sponsors 2004 Indianapolis 500 Mile Race winner Buddy Rice and Bombardier Rookie of the Year candidate Danica Patrick wants to be a major part of the program.
The USAC Indy Car 150 in 1970 was won by the legendary Dan Gurney. Every one of the IndyCar Series competitors who will be racing in the IRL's Argent Mortgage Indy Grand Prix will be looking to place his or her name alongside that of the legendary Southern California driver, race car designer and entrant.
Infineon Raceway president and general manager Steve Page's excitement was palpable as he announced the affiliation with Argent Mortgage. "We really didn't have a sense of how exciting the Indy cars would be here and how well they would go around the track" until yesterday afternoon, when 18 drivers took nearly 700 laps around this elegantly refurbished circuit.
"Argent Mortgage's participation reinforces all the positive thoughts about this event and is a company we know will put effort into the race meeting and build the name." On hand to cement the deal Angela Doumeng, marketing director for Argent Mortgage called the affiliation between her company and this track a "slam dunk. This is an amazing track and we're so excited to be part of this historic event."
Argent Mortgage supports independent mortgage brokers and uses its team sponsorship at Rahal Letterman Racing to make both consumers and mortgage brokers alike. "This partnership is a natural extension of Argent's 2005 integrated marketing program," acknowledged Wayne Lee, president of the company.
"Just as the return of open wheel racing to a permanent road course will give IRL fans a fresh new racing experience, Argent takes an non-conforming approach to mortgage lending that helps independent mortgage brokers deliver a superior lending experience to consumers nationwide."
In addition to the company's support of Rahal Letterman Racing and its newly announced naming sponsor duties with Infineon Raceway Sears Point, Argent Mortgage is the official mortgage lender of the Indy Racing League and the Indianapolis 500 Mile Race.
The firm holds title sponsorship of the IRL's Argent Mortgage Indy 300 on the 1.5-mile Kansas Speedway July 3rd and is the presenting sponsor for the League's first competition on the Watkins Glen International road course, coming up September 25th.
