SONOMA, Calif. (August 24, 2007) -- Panther Racing completed its first day of practice in at Infineon Raceway. Super Aguri Panther Racing driver Hideki Mutoh qualified 10th for the first race of the Carneros 100s this weekend. Mutoh won the last Indy Pro Series event at Kentucky Speedway.

"We're working on things in the Delphi car. The Panther team will make it quicker tomorrow and I have a lot of confidence in my engineers. It's nice to be back at Infineon, this is such a physical track. We have another day tomorrow to get the car right and I'm confident it will be there."
"Today was a frustrating day since we couldn't get as much speed as we wanted and we couldn't test much things that we wanted to. We still have practice session tomorrow before we qualify so hopefully I will be able to gain some speed and be able to show good run. I like to race on road courses so I am looking forward to the race."
Mutoh Qualifies 10th for First Race of Carneros 100s
"Today was the first day running here and I realized how tough this course is. I concentrated on learning the course first and then tried some setups before the qualifying. The qualifying result is disappointing but hopefully I will be able to move up the position and gain more points for the championship. I will have a meeting with my engineer tonight and try to find a good setup for the races."
