DIXON AND TARGET/ENERGIZER TEAM ON POLE AT NASHVILLE

KEEPING IT GOING, AND GOING, AND GOING... The Energizer Bunny joined the crew for qualifying today and the bunny feet obviously brought the team some extra luck on Friday the 13th as Dixon and the Energizer E2 Lithium Target car took the pole position.=20

After setting the fastest lap time in both practices at Nashville Speedway, Scott Dixon earned his eight career pole position in the no.9 Energizer Target car for the Saturday night race with a lap time of 22.8947 seconds (204.414 mph). Target teammate Dan Wheldon qualified fifth with a time of 22.9911 seconds (203.557 mph) and will start from the inside of row three.

The Target team is keeping the momentum created by last week's success at Watkins Glen with a win by Scott Dixon going... and going, and going... as the no.9 Target Honda once again takes on the blue /black /silver colours of the Energizer E2 Lithium Battery theme featuring the pink bunny that keeps going, and going and going.... The last time Dixon took the wheel of the no.9 Energizer schemed car, he drove it to Victory Lane at Watkins Glen in 2006!=20

THIS WEEKEND'S INDYCAR ACTION: Target Team drivers Scott Dixon (No.9 Target Honda-powered Dallara) and Dan Wheldon (No.10 Target Honda-powered Dallara) have a concrete challenge on their hands this weekend as they hope to defend the Target team's 1-2 finish last year at Nashville Superspeedway. The Firestone Indy 200 will take place Saturday evening and is the 11th race in 17-race 2007 season.=20

VENUE: The 1.33-mile tri-oval at Nashville Superspeedway opened in 2001and is the only track on the schedule to have a concrete surface, putting more emphasis on handling and tire wear.

TV RACE BROADCAST AIR DATE: 7:30 pm (ET) Live on ESPN, Saturday evening, July 14, 2007

PRO SERIES QUALIFYING: Chris Festa and the no.9 CareCentric Target Indy Pro Series team will also compete in at Nashville Superspeedway this weekend in the Sunbelt Rentals 100 on Saturday afternoon starting from the 15th spot on the starting grid. Festa had a pole position and a second place finish in the season opener at Homestead-Miami Speedway but is still looking for an elusive win.

TARGET CHIP GANASSI RACING QUOTEBOARD:

Scott Dixon: "It's good to have the Energizer car back I think that's part of it as we'll have such good runs when it's been this car. The Target guys have done a great job in getting it prepared. We just rolled off the truck fast today. We had to wait a little longer than we thought we would, but the car has been fast all weekend. It's good for what we need. We need to put the pressure on the AGR (Andretti Green Racing) guys anytime we can, leading sessions and leading qualifying. Hopefully, we have a good car in the race tomorrow. It's going to be tough to hold on. We're going to just have to see. It's going to be a good race tomorrow. It's been very difficult to pass, tougher than we've had in the past, so we'll have to see how that plays out. Once it cools off at night time, it might open up the second groove and give people the opportunity to pass."

Dan Wheldon: "We're a little disappointed on our side because we're a little slow. It's unfortunate and it gets a little frustrating because we're running the same set up as Scott (Dixon) and we're still half a mile slower. Starting fifth isn't too bad but the Target team will have to work hard tomorrow."
